With such a wide choice of accommodation in the Keswick area
it can be difficult for the first time visitor to decide where

Most accommodation
providers in the Northern Lake District are members of the Keswick
on Derwentwater Tourism Association. In order for accommodation
to be advertised
in the annually published Keswick Guide book or on the Keswick
Tourism Association web site it must be inspected and
approved each year
by a recognised
authority. This is to ensure high standards of accommodation
and facilities are provided for visitors to Keswick and the
North
Lakes. Where the accommodation has been visited and approved
by an inspector from the AA or VisitBritain (formerly the
English Tourism Council), a quality
grading will have been awarded. Self catering properties, hotels,
B&Bs, guest houses and inns are graded using a star system
(from 1 to 5 stars).
There are additional awards given to those who excel in certain
areas, such as rosettes for cuisine, Silver and Gold Awards for
