What to do in Keswick
Hello, me and my boyfriend are coming to the Lakes tomorrow for a few days for his birthday. Please could you tell me if there are any nice restaurants for dinner (not pub lunch restaurants) and where I could find them. Also what are the clubs like? What music do they play and how late are they open til?

Thank you, any info will be much appreciated

Big Grin

It is possible to escape from pub grub as there are some good restaurants in Keswick. There is Morrels on Lake Road (down from George Fishers), where you will find really good new English cuisine, Luca's Restorante (just opposite the Pencil Museum) which serves top quality Italian fayre, and la Salsa, a really good Mexican in Standish Street, which runs off Station Street opposite to WH Smiths.

As for clubs, the Labour and Conservative clubs are good, but not really any music. There is a so-called night club in the middle of town called The Loft where I believe you will find music and dancing.

Whatever you do you will enjoy Keswick.

Will they now?
No they wont. Unless of course they are here to erode our beautiful landscape, and slag off our 'funny cumbrian accents'. BAH HUMBUG!

Hi Simon, well, the only nightclub in keswick is the loft which has just been refurbed and looks great. There is a place called Rumours which has disco's and all types of live music etc. It has a good atmosphere and targets the 18-30's age group. No other nightclubs i'm afraid and most pubs are tourist places(mostly doing meals) which don't really cater for a loud weekend in keswick with big groups. I think the loft is open till 3am at weekends and rumours is open fairly late too. Hope I wasn't too basic there, but that's all the info I have for now.
