Hesket Newmarket?
Hi all

Having had a great holiday last year we are starting to plan this year's July break. A friend has suggested that Hesket Newmarket would be a good place to stay as there is a pub there with their own brewery in the back garden. My other half likes the idea of that, but we know little about that part of the lakes. It does seem quite a way out. Can anyone advise if it is a nice place to visit/stay.

We would be looking for a B&B and prefer to eat in, but if there is a good pub within (very) easy walking distance then that would be OK. Smile

Re: Hesket Newmarket?
Hello

In 2005 we stayed in a cottage just outside Caldbeck which is not far from Hesket Newmarket. We visited the Crown pub on a couple of occasions but did not eat there. It is quite a small pub, but the beers are really good.

We are hoping to come to the lakes again this year, but will be staying more centrally, maybe in Borrowdale, as although Caldbeck was nice, we found that most days we drove south into the lakes.

Danny
