market, good pubs & kid friendly casual restaurants

Hi! My family is about to venture to the lakes, and we wondered about spending a day in Keswick. I'm wondering about when the market is held and also if anyone can recommend a good child-friendly pub or restaurant for lunch. My husband and i really appreciate good food, but we need a casual place which is happy to see 3 nice wee boys - 6, 4 and 11 months! Fairly quick service required!!

Keswick is a good place for children. Main market day is Saturday when the town square is jam packed with stalls. There is also a smaller farmers market every Thursday.

For lunch there is a lot of choice, and all child friendly! Since I live here I don't really eat in the town at lunchtime but do like Betty Barkers on Lake Road (small and friendly) - and I guess that for all, speed of service varies with how busy they are.
