Another outdoor walking shop
Woolworths is to become yet another outdoor shop. This is a another nail in the coffin of Keswick as a shopping centre for normal residents. We don't want to buy new anoraks every week, we want to be able to buy normal household things like plastic washing bowls and often birthday or christmas presents such as DVDs, CDs and mobile phones.
So we will have to go to Penrith, Workington or Carlisle to get these things, and no doubt will buy other things while we are there that we would otherwise have bought in Keswick. So the non-outdoor traders in the town will lose out. We won't spend local money on a cup of coffee or a light lunch. I wonder which shops will be the next to be boarded up Sue |

Re: Another outdoor walking shop
Last thing Keswick needs is another outdoor shop. There must be over 20 of them now. Thanks to free bus passes at least older folk can get to Penrith or Workington to shop.
