Jon
You will probably realise that self catering accommodation is extremely popluar over the New Year period. If you have not done it yet, try telephoning Keswick's Tourist Information Centre on 017687 72645 - they have access to a database of accommodation vacancies. If you are looking for caravans then there are some local ones on http://www.countrycaravans.co.uk Kelvyn Jenkinhill Cottage, Guest House Accommodation in Thornthwaite, Keswick Lake District Bookshop |

Hey Jon I would recommend a caravan for that week. That's what we will be doing for the second year running - last year we actually started off in a cottage in Ambleside which was just not of a habitable standard. We came on here to get advice, and the people in Keswicks' information centre put us onto a farm caravan owner. It was far, far better than we could have hoped for. What started as a disaster turned into a great week.
Now, anyone know if we can expect snow on the hills like last year? Matthew |
