Convention in Keswick?

Can someone tell me when the convention is on in Keswick? Having visited the the town last year while it was on we would prefer to avoid this.

Just seen this. The dates this year are July 16 to August 5th.

I will be on holiday in Spain for the first two weeks, that's how I know.

That is a shame. Those 3 weeks are all in our local school summer holiday time. We will try to get something booked for the two weeks, 6th onwards. We don't like staying in Keswick (too noisy), but our usual village B&B is already booked for that time.

It looks like parking will be a mess during the next 2-3 weeks as the convention people did not apply early enough for permissions to restrict parking on the streets around the tent. When the convention finishes there will be roadworks with traffic lights on the Penrith road, the route in and out of Keswick from the east, but from the west will be OK.

GHO, as you are on holiday you will like this one! The Rawnsley car park is fully closed for the 3 weeks of the convention. They have tents on there & people on the gates to stop you driving in and parking as usual. So there are even fewer places for holidaymakers visiting Keswick to park. I see I'm not the only one to notice this as there is a letter in the Reminder about it.
