Wedding.....

Hi there,
I am planning on getting married in 2013, hopefully in Newlands church, but am struggling to find a venue for the reception.

We are quite keen on having a "garden style" reception so possibly in a Marquee, or hire a barn but was hoping someone may have some idea's on where i could do this around the Newlands area? Either hotels that have nice gardens, or if there are any farms that have a large barn or would be happy to rent out a field for the weekend?
There are a couple of hotels i have found around the Portinscale area but was wondering if there are any other places that i may have missed.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received!

Congratulations, on your forthcoming wedding!
Keswick Country House Hotel is a nice venue. It's actually in Keswick next to the swimming pool complex, on Station Road by Fitz Park. Hope it's not too far away from Newlands for you.

The last time I checked, the gardens were in good condition but I would check it out yourself, just in case they have deteriorated. They have a restaurant, so catering is not a problem.

Two places that spring to mind are the Derwentwater Hotel at Portinscale (although it is now a Shearings hotel) or maybe talk to the Swinside Inn, as they are in the Valley and they do functions in the Refuge Bar.

The Newlands Adventure Centre might be worth a call, too.
