What can you do on a rainy day?
I am planning to visit Keswick in March on the Easter bank holiday. The main attraction for me would be the outdoor activities but in case I will be up against rainy weather, can you recommend anything?

Cheers,
Dan

Re: What can you do on a rainy day?
Last year a friend of mine took his wife to Keswick for a week's holiday. His idea of walking was to use a machine in a gym so he didn't have to be outside, so he asked me for a list of indoor activities. These are some that I remember writing down for him:

Keswick climbing Wall, Theatre by the Lake, Cinema, Keswick museum, Pencil museum, Mining museum, Puzzling Place, Cars of the Stars, galleries & shops galore, cafes, pubs & restaurants.

He saw almost none of these as on the first day they bought some decent walking kit and spent the rest of the week out exploring the hills.

When I saw him next he thanked me for the list - and then went on for about an hour about all the great walking he had done. Needless to say he is now addicted.... Big Grin

cool

thanks.
I only need them as a backup in case the weather is really bad. I am taking the bikes so I will try to scout the fells if at all possible.
