M6 or A591

Hi all

I'm coming up to Keswick soon but wonder if approaching from the south it is quicker to go all the way up the M6 to Penrith and then along the A66 or to come off the M6 by Kendal and come up the A591? This will be in the evening at about 9pm on a Friday. My Satnav seems to prefer the A591.

The easiest route is via M6 and A66, providing that the motorway is open. This is the route I always use.
