Five couples for 19 May
One of our pub club found out about the mountain festival this month and having visted the lake district as a nipper he thought we should pay a visit. We are regular walkers, but ony to the pub and back.
We need accommodation, preferably B&B for Saturday 19th, and would all like to stay in the same place. There are 10 of us, five couples. Any ideas/offers? Jimmy |

You'll have great difficulty finding anywhere that will take such a large party outside of the larger hotels. Even if they have rooms available they are unlikely to accept a single night stay over a busy weekend.
Have a look on the Keswick Tourism Association website and search for hotel & B&B accommodation availability. If you have no luck there then I'd suggest looking at staying somewhere within a short travelling distance of Keswick, such as Penrith. Thaks, mate. We will look on that website or probaly for a pub with rooms in easy reach of Keswick. Then if it is a wet day we will only have to walk downstairs to the bar.

We found a place in Windymere where we can all stay. A bit expensive for my taste but Alex, our lake district expert reckons it will only be about half an hour from the fun.
Look out keswick. We will be there on saturday. Jimmy |

Re: Five couples for 19 May
As a post-script to our weekend in the lakes I want to say how much we enjoyed our visit to Keswick. The weather was a bit iffy, but we still did a little walking and spoke to a lot of really friendly people.
Contrast that with Bowness in Windermere where we stayed overnight. We found it to be a noisy place and generally unfriendly, especially in a little cafe where we had some coffees and a light bite before starting on our way home. Next time we will try to book early - but you can be sure that we will get back to Keswick. Jimmy |

Re: Five couples for 19 May
One of your problems with trying to book to stay in Keswick (apart from leaving it too late) is that very few B&Bs in this area take advance bookings for single nights at weekends. They can usually fill every room with people wanting 2 nights or more - so next time, book earlier and for longer
