I was in Keswick last weekend and read about the ospreys in a news sheet so had to go to Doods wood for a look. What news? Any eggs or has the real Mrs Osprey turned up?

So far I know that two eggs have been laid by the new female. The previous female has not shown up yet - so may not appear at all this year. The webcam has been playing up so the images are not appearing as they should. Keep an eye on the diary on the BBC Cumbria osprey news page.

Update: There are now 3 eggs in the nest. Not all may hatch, but we will see, with the first due at the beginning of June.

Thanks for that. I will be back, hopefully around the end of July so will catch up with the story then. I may even join the RSPB!

I have read the osprey news on the web. What great news. Will the chicks be flying by the end of July when we visit again?
