Building at Thirlmere
When driving past Thirlmere I'm intriged by the building just below the road that looks like a small castle - does anyone know what this building is?

Now that the Forestry Commision have cleared a lot of trees from the east side of Thirlmere the building is more obvious. It is the pumping station for the reservoir, although it probably does not "pump" as the water flows south assisted only by gravity.

There is a picture of it at the bottom of this page.
