Big changes for Keswick?
A report in the News & Star describes the main features of a consultant's report commissioned by the Keswick Area Partnership. Apparently welcomed by the Town Council, the report seems to have some interesting ideas, such as turning the Rawnsley Centre into a luxury hotel, luxury flats in the current pencil factory building and luxury homes associated with "a new connection with the lakeside".
I wonder why there is so much concentration on luxury? Apparently leaflets will be prepared to inform the public about the recommendations. Grumbler |

The Rawnsley Center is not only used by the convention people & Kings Church, but also is used for some community activities. I wonder where the people of Keswick fit in here, what is there for the current users of Rawnsley Hall and those who can't do "luxury"?
I have never forgiven the convention for destroying the cricket field and turning it into a car park. Sue |
