keswick fun pool (not)

Dear Sir.

I just had to right and tell you about our ruined day out at Keswick swimming pool.
We have been visiting the lakes for about 10 years staying with our friends in Ousby.
We have been staying with them for the past week on Wednesday mourning which was wet and wild it was sugested that we visit the pool at Keswick which all our young familys would enjoy.
We arrived early and waited in the que after twenty minuets or so,a member of staff informed us that "The pool was already full and could we return later" we where a bit "Miffed" but we went for a stroll around Keswich mooched around the shops and had lunch.
We returned at 13:00hrs i spoke to the young girl at reception who informed me that "They where expecting a group of around 30 but they where already late and if they wherent here by quater past then i will let every one in reception into the pool."
"Ok" i said i then told all my group what the receptionist had said.
At 13:15 the receptionist started letting people enter the pool as promised there was 1 family infront of us.As you can imagine all the children,4 in our group and 5 in the other group where very excited.At that point a large group of people arived in reception."Sorry said the receptionist thats it the group has arrived"
"What" i said.
"Come back at 14:30" said the receptionist.
"Can we book" I asked and so did the family in front.
"Have to be a party of 30" replied the receptionist.
My daughter promptly burst into tears and i left in discust at the receptionists attitude and the lack of common scence.

Sorry to hear of your experiences. I do know that the pool in Keswick does get very busy. It is just not big enough at popular holiday times when visitors as well as locals want to use it. It really is just a small splash pool, as you can't really swim in it.

Easter is the time when we see parties of school and youth groups staying locally on geography or geology field trips. They do book time slots in the pool beforehand, and this is possibly the reason for your family not being able to enter. It does sound like a bit of reception staff training would not go amiss.
