Heather flowering
When is the best time to see the heather in bloom on the fells around Keswick? Is/was it early or late this year?

Mike, the heather flowered early this year, in mid/late June I think. Probably because of the fine weather with just the right amount of rainfall. Since living here I have noticed that if Spring is too dry then the flowering time is later.
