Annual Festivals in Keswick for 2011

The 11th Keswick Film Festival took place on 10th - 13th February 2011. There are Keswick Fiml Club presentations throught the year. See www.keswickfilmfestival.org

The Words by the Water Literary Festival 2011 was held from 4th to 13th March 2011 at the Theatre by the Lake in Keswick and was an outstanding success. Check www.wayswithwords.co.uk periodically for details of the 2012 festival.

This year's Music at Crosthwaite summer series starts on 13th April at 5.50pm with a performance by Philip Rushforth, Director of Music at Chester Cathedral. Download the program.

St John's Parish Church are hosting a series of concerts through the summer, download the program here.

jazzbandThe 20th Keswick Jazz Festival was held Thursday 12th May - Sunday 15th May. Unfortunately the weather for this event was not as good as last year, with some moisture about! Next year's event will be a 3 day festival rather than 4 days. News will be posted nearer the time on  www.keswickjazzfestival.co.uk

 


The 5th Keswick Mountain Festival, 18 - 22 May 2011 .

keswickmountainfestivalWith a program designed to appeal to all who love the Lake District and great mountain scenery worldwide, the Cumberland Ale Keswick Mountain Festival offered many activites and a choice of walks led by experienced leaders. There was  an exciting series of talks from leading mountaineers and outdoor personalities at the Theatre by the Lake.

The 15th Keswick Beer Festival sponsored by Lancashire brewer Daniel Thwaites' Wainwright took place on Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th June 2011. Good beers, good ciders, good weather  and good entertainment were enjoyed by mearly 6,000 people! Tickets for next year go on sale in December - see www.keswickbeerfestival.co.uk

Lakes Comedy Festival, Keswick July 2nd - 14th

Lake District Comedy FestivalMuch more than Lakes and Mountains, the Lake District also hosts some great comedy entertainment in this second Comedy Festival. With laughter guaranteed  for locals and vistors, acts include Barry & Stuart's magic show, Lucy Porter and James Redmond. Also making a welcome return to Keswick is the very funny (and controversial) Juliet Meyers.

Keswick Pencil Museum celebrated 30th Birthday

Celebrating Art in Cumbria, 30 years of the Pencil Museum, on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th May 2011, a very special event took place at The Pencil Museum, Keswick. The event included free artist workshops and demonstrations, galleries of artist’s drawings, competitions, raffles, children’s activities and lots more. It was a fun packed weekend for all.
