Environment minister Beverley Hughes
told the BBC:
"There is no evidence that any case of infection has been
caused by walkers, by visitors, or by people not in contact with
livestock.
Enjoy the Lake District
More than 65% of footpaths, fells and bridleways are now open
in the Lake District. Apart from hiking and fell walking, visitors
are able to enjoy an enormous range of activities, attractions,
towns and villages, restaurants, pubs, swimming pools, climbing
walls, historic houses, churches, museums, castles, shops and
galleries.
