I'm coming to Keswick at the last weekend in March. Are the slide shows in the Moot Hall on yet?

Thanks
George

George

I heard from a friend who was up in Keswick last weekend that the Moot hall is being renovated and will be open for Easter - so I guess there are no slide shows yet.

I was a bit worried about this foot and mouth disease, but he said although things were quieter just about everything was open so I'm looking forward to a visit after Easter.

Hello Tom, I'm pleased your friend enjoyed his trip to Keswick at the weekend.

The Moot Hall is undergoing quite a change. There will be two floors devoted to tourist information when it re-opens - and it will be open for Easter. Good thing too, as it often used to get crowded. I suppose that just shows how popular Keswick is!

As your friend said, there is still too much to see and do on a short visit despite the press stories of the Lake District being shut. It certainly is the same as always apart from posters on footpath signs.

I hope you enjoy your visit to Keswick at Easter - make sure you come back here and tell us about it.

I'm pleased to know that there are still plenty of things to do. I have seen awful picures on TV from Cumbria.

I will pay a visit to the Moot Hall when I come to see the improvements.

Regards
Tom

Moot Hall

Sounds good about the Moot Hall. More space for the Tourist Info will be a good thing. Will there still be room for the slide shows though as we have enjoyed them in the past?

Hello Rose

I have checked today and there will indeed be slide shows in the Moot Hall. The Tourist Information Centre is to be on the first two floors of the building, with a refurbished meeting room on the top floor available for meetings of local groups and for slide shows!

The move into the building takes place Wednesday and Thursday this week, so Friday will be the day to pay them a visit to check out the new facilities!
