1 Night Stay on the 1st September

by Jmeikle on Mon Jun 25, 2007 7:09 pm

Hi,

My wife and parents are coming down to a wedding on the 1st September in the Lodore falls Hotel.

I have looked everywhere and I can't get anywhere that will take us for a 1 night, all minimum 2 nights stay.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or do I have to pay £40 for a taxi to Penrith?

Thanks,
Jmeikle

That is a Saturday at the end of the very popular bank holiday week and the start of the first full week in September. I do not know of any B&B that would take a booking in advance for that night, as it would prevent them from taking good full Saturday to Saturday week bookings, which are popular during early September. And the end of the bank holiday week is popular with people taking a last 3 night or so break before the end of school holidays. You could always book 2 nights but only use one of them.

You will usually find that the larger hotels will take single Saturday bookings, have you tried those?

As a matter of policy, in our guesthouse we do not take single night weekend bookings, but may let a room on that night if we have one left. This would be to someone seeing our vacancies sign and knocking on the door.
